Two elderly widows lived in
the little bungalow beside the shop: firstly, Julia Nicholas or
Nichols, who was born in Wetherden in 1808, and died in Chelsworth
in 1883.

Mary Peacock from Bildeston was the mother of Mary Gage. She died in 1880 aged 87.
In later years, Martha and Jane Gage
lived here, before the building was demolished to make way for Albert and Freda
Cracknell’s Dairy Cottage.
