Ellen Katrine Pocklington was born in Preston, Lancashire and died in 1907. She was the daughter of Rev Henry Sharpe Pocklington, and the eldest sister of Col Henry and Col Fred Pocklington.

In the census, she is described as living on the income from mortgages.

In pencil, the ledger also mentions one female domestic called Smith.

In the 1871 census, Miss Pocklington had a 15-year-old servant named as Agnes Herbert from Stratford St Mary, but otherwise known as Annie, the daughter of Peter and Emma Herbert at Church View.
